Today was dedicated to packing and buying food for the next days.
When Gérard arrived, I had to submit him the proposition to keep the car longer and see some of the scenes I had see before. He called the agency, it was possible. I offered him to pay one of the two days as conterparty.
So then we left in direction of our goal: the feet of the Licancabur!
He had asked at some agency which were telling him that the route was from the Bolivian side. They told him as well about the mine fields.
Regarding the information I have from Carabineros: mines are ALWAYS surrounded by safety device…therefore I was confident, even one other guy said it was possible that mine could be washed out by rain.
Anyway, we headed up to the left of the vulcan, while Gérard was showing very good / excellent offroad driving skills! Congratulations!
We finally arrived at a staring place and cooked diner and ate in the car because of the strong wind. The tent is ready for goodnight!
